This incident shows that the power supplies for critical facilities are a chain of components. While certain components such as generator service might be higher on priorities, true reliability only comes when an end to end approach is adopted. The encompasses fuel storage facilities, fuel condition, generator, switchgear, UPS and transformers. A chain is only a strong as its weakest link and reliability isn’t assured until it is verified.
